Alu Alu foil price in Pakistan: what decides the rate per kg

"What is the Alu Alu foil rate?" is the first question most purchase teams ask, and the honest answer is that it changes. Alu Alu cold form foil is sold by the kilogram, and the rate on any day depends on the market and on your specification. Knowing what moves the price helps you compare quotes fairly and plan your buying.

1. Aluminium metal prices

Aluminium is the heaviest layer in the laminate. Its price on international metal markets rises and falls with global supply and demand, and foil rates follow it with a short delay.

2. The dollar rate

Most Alu Alu foil used in Pakistan is imported, so the rupee–dollar exchange rate feeds straight into the rupee price per kg. A weaker rupee raises the landed cost even when the dollar price has not moved.

3. Thickness and structure

The standard is 160 micron foil (OPA 25 µm / aluminium 45 µm / PVC 60 µm). Heavier aluminium for deep cavities, or a thicker PVC layer, adds grams per square metre. Because you pay by weight, a heavier structure also gives you fewer square metres, and fewer blisters, per kilogram. Compare quotes at the same structure, not only the same total micron.

4. Width, slitting and roll size

Rolls slit to your machine width (for example 250 mm) on 76 mm cores carry a small slitting and edge-trim cost. Very narrow widths waste more material per roll.

5. Printing

Plain silver foil is the base price. Alu-Alu reverse printing foil costs more because of the printing cylinders, ink and the extra process step. Cylinders are a one-time cost per design, so repeat orders of the same design cost less.

6. Order quantity

Larger orders and regular monthly schedules get better rates than one-off small lots, because freight, handling and set-up are spread over more kilograms.

7. Tax and delivery

Check whether a quote includes sales tax and delivery to your plant. We issue a sales tax invoice with every order, so you can compare like with like.

Compare cost per blister, not just rate per kg

Two foils at the same rate per kg can give different numbers of packs. Divide 1,000 by the foil's grammage in g/m² to get square metres per kg; a standard 160 micron foil of about 240 g/m² gives roughly 4 square metres per kilogram. Then divide by the area of foil one blister uses to see the true cost per pack.
